This configuration allows for both maximum storage and sleeping surface. The foot well was reduced to this size because there will be an enclosed head in the pilot house, and so the only space needed is for a good sitting area while dressing. This design evolved from experience cruising with our 22’ C-Dory. Sleeping with our heads towards the bow makes a nice roomy surface for two people.
