Painting the Bottom

So, I found a great deal on an HVLP spray gun but decided for the optimum air pressure and volume that I should get a 60 gallon/220v compressor. That in turn, required running a 220 line to the garage from a new sub-panel. That in turn required a permit and inspection from the city building department. Nothing that money won’t fix . . . such a deal.

I primed the hull with System Three primer, mostly to cover the dark value of the UGLY graphite before I put on the bottom paint. The paint is Interlux's "VC Performance Epoxy " bottom paint with teflon. It is self- priming over epoxies and fiberglass, but the ill-fated graphite bottom bled a lot of tone. It took the primer and couple of coats of bottom paint to completely cover.
